SHOWCASE 2012 and TOTALLY TURNING SHOW

Postby dickmiraglia » Thu Jan 26, 2012 5:12 am

The Northeastern Woodworkers Association will be holding their 21st annual fine woodworking show in Saratoga Springs, NY on March 31 and April 1, 2012. For information, you can check out their website. http://www.nwawoodworkingshow.org/ Featured speakers include Dirk Boelman, Barbara Nottke and Carole Rothman. Gail and Carl, the owners of the Springs Motel, 189 Broadway have agreed to offer a special group rate to scrollers of $65/night. This is a nice, small family run motel that you can check out on TripAdvisor. Their phone number is 518-584-6336. On Friday night at 8 pm, the scrollers are gathering at the nearby Dunkin Donuts, 207 Broadway, to share a cup of coffee, donuts, and conversation about scrolling. This is an informal event and everyone is welcome. If you need any further information, send me a private message or email me at dickmira@ptd.net. Scrollers, families and guests are going to gather for dinner on Saturday, March 31 at the 99 Restaurant on Route 50 in front of the Wilton Mall at 6 pm. You can check the menu at http://www.99restaurant.com and are welcome to join in. Regards, Dick

Hello Carol and Homer: Enjoy the pics. If you can believe it, there were even more projects and vendors than those in his gallery. I had two projects on display at the All American Crafts booth, a Great Horned Owl and a fretwork cutting done on 50,000 year old Kauri wood. These will be in Creative Woodworks & Crafts later this year so I won't post them here. I did not enter any projects for competition this year. We had such a great time with a great group of scrollers that we talked about getting a bus group together for the Wisconsin show. Of course, Dirk and Karen were all in favor of that idea. Wouldn't that be fun. Take care and Happy Easter! Dick

I think you have a great idea of a bus tour. Were are looking forward to see you there. Our bus is setting in the drive way and the idea of $5.00 gas and 7 MPG is a little scarey. We have less miles that you but it takes a bite out of our SS.
